Current Research Focuses
Our research group is broadly interested in ecology, ethology, and, conservation of amphibians (and some reptiles). Our current projects focus on: 1) Interspecific interactions between wood frogs and spotted salamanders, 2) Effects of road salt pollution on an aquatic community, 3) Parental care behavior of Japanese giant salamanders, and 4) Population assessment of giant salamanders using environmental DNA.

Our manuscript about giant salamander injuries is now published in Freshwater Biology!

Congratulations to the graduating seniors, Matt, Brigid, and Ibrahim!
Brigid was awarded the John T. Lowry Jr. Prize (the outstanding graduate in biology).
Ibrahim was awarded the Gregory E. Wright Award (senior who not only works to improve diversity and acceptance of cultural and economic differences, but also consistently demonstrates courage, vision, fairness, determination, patience, compassion and strength as was in the spirit of their predecessor, Gregory E. Wright, Class of 1973).
