My name is Amaya Becker, and I am a senior studying Animal Behavior at Bucknell University. I was born and raised in Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania. Growing up, I always lived right next to a lake, which sparked my interest in everything nature and the outdoors: animals, fish, birds, plants, you name it. I spent a lot of my childhood fishing and exploring every nook and cranny the lake had to offer, which fueled my passion for pursuing an education and career that works with animals.
After graduating from college, I am hoping to get involved with wildlife rehabilitation for a career, or any similar field of working hands-on with animals. I have previously interned at Red Creek Wildlife Rehabilitation Center over the summer of my junior year, which inspired my passion for the field. Through that career path, I would also be interested in being a public educator that works with wildlife, as I feel like I have a knack for teaching and helping others.
Outside of my academic work on campus, I am a Residential Advisor (RA), a member of the Chi Omega sorority, an employee at Uptown, and am involved in a few different clubs. I like music, art, football, cooking, nature, and birds (I LOVE going bird watching).
