Second Grade

Renee Bingman

Hello, my name is Renee Bingman. I’m from Alaska and the Northwest. I received my Bachelor of Arts in English from Eastern Washington University and completed my Masters program in Education while living in California. During my time in California, I taught 1st and 2nd grade. Recently, I’ve been learning from and facilitating 3rd graders in North Dakota.

I enjoy traveling and have had the opportunity to visit several interesting countries (Bolivia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Peru and Thailand). A few of my favorite places to visit were the Amazon Rainforest and the Galapagos Islands!

My hobbies include: arts and crafts, reading, walking my dog Snickerdoodle (aka: Baby, Scrubblets or Chubblets, Skookietoe as well as many other nicknames☺), and watching interesting movies.

I’m excited about living in Alaska again and I’m looking forward to teaching 2nd grade this year and getting to know everyone!

Lorrena (Bunik) Katcheak

I am from Stebbins and grew up in Stebbins. I started out as a substitute at the Stebbins School in August 2018. I was here everyday until I got hired as an educational aide in December 2018. I am now a Special Ed Para in the 4th grade.

Before coming to work for BSSD I worked at the laundromat, the post office, and the IRA. What I like about working here is that everyone is always welcoming whoever comes here and everyone is kind. For the new school year I am looking forward to learning new teaching strategies.

When I am not at work I like to go camping, berry picking, walking, boating, and gathering our native food with my family.

My advice to students is to stay in school, do your work, listen to your parents and teachers, and stay out of trouble. Stay positive and SUCCEED in all you do! GO GRIZZLIES!!!
