I was born and half-raised in Alaska; the other half of my raising was done in Virginia where I grew up and went to school. Braxton and I moved to Alaska in 2010 and made our home on the Kenai Peninsula. I worked as a medical assistant there before pursuing a MAT degree in Elementary Education from the University of Alaska Southeast. My husband and I accepted teaching offers with BSSD and moved to Stebbins in 2015.
This will be my third year living and teaching in Stebbins. I have loved getting outside to explore on the tundra – picking blueberries, camping, fishing and skiing. Since I teach in the primary grades, I have also enjoyed getting to know the older students through sports and after school activities. I have a blast running with the cross-country team, working out with the basketball girls, and coaching the volleyball team. The students represent Stebbins well whenever they travel, and it makes me proud to be a Grizzly!
I am looking forward to another great year in Stebbins.
My name is Kimberly, but I like to be called “Kim.” I was born and raised in Stebbins; I’ve lived here my whole life.
This is my 2nd year here at the school working as a Para Pro in the 1st grade.
I love working with the kids. It’s a bit of a challenge, but I’m looking forward to this 2017-18 school year.
