Bicultural / Bilingual

Anna Nashoanak

Hello, my name is Anna Nashoanak, and I’m from Stebbins Alaska. I’m married to Ryan Nashoanak, Sr., and together we have four daughters and one son. I grew up here in Stebbins most of my childhood. I did live in St. Michael for few years until we moved back to Stebbins.

I started working here at the school as a sub last year in March and got hired as the 6th grade aide. This year I moved to the Bilingual/Bicultural class.

When I’m not at work I love spending time with my family doing subsistence gathering, which includes cutting fish, picking berries, putting meat away for the long winter, boating and doing what I love - beach combing. Another joy that my family has is our grandson, he is the pride to my family and everyone who gets to know him. Both my husband and I love being grandparents, and we love watching our kids grow into the children they are now.

I look forward to a good, prosperous year with our high school students full of fun and learning for all of us. Thank you for your time.

Minnie Aluska

I was born and I grew up in Stebbins, and have been working at Tukurngailnguq School for going on 20 years.

Before working at the school I helped out on subsistence activities.

I like working here and seeing all the students accomplishing their learning, graduating, and succeeding!

When I’m not at work I enjoy berry picking and helping others.

I’m looking forward to another year of everyone working together and helping students. Go for the best!!
