Portland Winterhawks Game recap

We're back on top of the leaderboard!! This weekend Portland went against Victoria Royals with the Saturday night win. It was an electric game ending in a 4-5 Sudden death overtime win in 15 seconds, one of the fastest Portland has done it. What happened before was that Portland scored a goal with 23 seconds left in the 3rd period (final period). That goal made the crowd erupt. Cross Hanas scoring the goal of the game in 15 seconds, Portland won the face off pushed to the blue line and move up to the red, and then it was a 1 on 1 and Cross Hanas #71 moved pass Victoria Royals Forward Oliver Kane #34, Scoring and the crowd erupted again - Very Exciting game. The Sunday night game ended real quick, no overtime in 4-1. Very good game too; we played a lot better on Sunday night.

Portland Winter Hawks Recap

Last weekend Portland play three games against Tri-Cities, Seattle, and Everett. The first game Portland won against the Tri-Cities 3-1, Second game in Seattle, Portland won 6-3, Third game Portland lost to Everett 1-4. Ty Kolle, who plays center forward for Everett had a very good goal that game. Ty Kolle used to be on the Winterhawks but we traded him for a second-round draft pick. Ty Kolle stole the puck from the blue line and went for the net, juking Joel Hofer who plays goalie for Portland out for an empty shot making it the game-winning goal.

In the end, Everett took 1st place over the weekend putting Portland 1 point behind Edmonton and Everett.

The Portland Winter Hawks Recap

The Portland Winter Hawks have won ⅓ of their games this weekend, sad story in Seattle on 2/22/20 we lost 3-2 on a game winning goal by Brendan Williamson, it was also his first WHL Goal. Congrats to him but… bad for us as we lost 2 points in the standings. We also lost on Sunday on home ice against the Everett Silvertips, a very aggressive game as a lot of fights broke out with lots of penalties- 23 total penalties overall on. We lost 6-2, but good game by Everett. Hard Fought. We had many chances and we blew them. It’s okay as we are still first place in the WHL and 3rd in the CHL with Sherbrooke Phoenixof the QMJHL in first in the CHL and second is the Ottawa 67’s of the OHL. We will turn out okay i’m hoping, as we are holding our spot at 1st place, but if we lose one more game we could be knocked down to 2nd. If we keep our place for a while, we could win the regular season champion title for the 2020 season.

Portland Hockey

The Western Hockey league is a Junior Major Hockey League meant for 15-20 year olds trying to make it in the big scene National Hockey League. The WHL is made up of the CHL (Canadian Hockey League) and so as the OHL (Ontario Hockey League) and finally the QMJHL(Quebec Major Junior Hockey League). I will be reporting on the Portland Winterhawks of the WHL.

The Portland Winterhawks are right now 1st place out of 22 other teams in the Western Hockey League. They have 81 points, 51 Games played, 7 losses, and 37 wins. The trialing Edmonton Oil Kings have 79 points, 52 games played, 8 losses, and 35 wins. As of 2-11-20. Portland was the first team in the WHL to get a Clinched Playoff Position out of all 3 leagues. You will see common updates on the Portland Winterhawks.
