Unfortunately, we lost a legend. On Sunday January 6th 2020 Kobe Bryant, His daughter Gigi Bryant were flying to a basketball tournament. The Pilot could not see anything due to fog. The Pilot was very experienced, but unfortunately the helicopter ended up hitting a rock which led to the pilot not being able to have control. Later reports said That Kobe Bryant and his daughter Gianna Bryant were also in the helicopter. The world was extremely devastated. Every NBA Team Took a 24 second violation or a 8 second violation as a tribute to Kobe Bryant's 2 numbers: 8 and 24. There were also 7 other passengers who unfortunately also died: Alyssa Altobelli, John Altobelli, Keri Altobelli, Gianna Bryant, Kobe Bryant, Payton Chester, Christina Mauser, and Ara Zobayan. The world was devastated by this and a lot of people still are. My condolences go out to Vanessa Bryant, and the rest of the Bryant family. Also, to all of the family of the other victims. Rest In Peace. To The Legend, the Black Mamba, Kobe Bryant, and the other victims... RIP.

On Friday, February 7, there was a lot of controversy between The Portland Trail Blazers and the referees. An Obvious Goal-tend call was not called. Damian Lillard got heated and started to yell at them. They said it was an obvious no call. Minutes after the game ended, the referees said it was a goal-tend and that they made a mistake. Lillard after dropping 42 points was interviewed after that game saying, "We don't want to hear that crap, It's a loss to our record."

Blazers Coach Terry Stotts reacted by saying; “Just a shame that it was decided by an inexcusable missed call, There’s no other way to describe it. They could have called a goaltending and reviewed it, but they swallowed their whistles on a play that was pretty obvious. It’s disappointing that such a great effort was decided by that.” In my opinion I think the referees should have called a goal-tend and go check it to make sure. Lillard was not fined and neither were the referees.

Who is your favorite basketball player and why?

Kjel: Damian Lillard because he plays for the Blazers.

Dylan: Tacko Fall because he is the tallest player.

Mr Lee: Luka Doncic because he is very fun to watch and he reminds me of magic johnson.

Mazin: Stephen Curry. Because he's an inspiration.

Mr Koehler: Tim Duncan. Because he played the big fundamentals. He let his game talk for himself.

Max: Lebron because I like how he dunks.

Nery: Giannis Antetokoumnpo because he's good at dunking.

Andre Drummond Trade

After playing for the Detroit Pistons for his whole career Andre Drummond has been traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Cleveland Cavaliers received Andre Drummond who has a 29 million dollar contract option. While The Detroit pistons received Brandon Knight, John Henson and a 2023 second round pick.I honestly think this is a bad trade for the pistons but a good pickup by the cavaliers.
