We interviewed students from several classes including; Mr. Lee’s Newspaper Advisory, Mr. Koelers Film Advisory, Mr. Jordans Math Advisory, and Mr. Battisons Leadership Advisory. We asked the students in the musical questions about the musical, and play practice. Here were their responses:
What’s your part in the musical:
Amryn: “The dresser.”
Stella: “Belle.”
Will: “Cogsworth.”
Melanie: “My part is the beautiful, gorgeous, strong, brute, Gaston.”
Sam: “Lumier.”
Elijah: “Beast.”
Claire: “Lady with a baby/Ensemble.”
How have practices been going:
Amryn: “Ummm, good.”
Stella: “Um, fine once you get there I mean.”
Will: “They've been doing good.”
Melanie: “It's been going pretty well. It's been fun getting into character.”
Sam: “Beauty.”
Elijah: “Fun but also stressful.”
Claire: “Umm, they're pretty good. It's a little bit like tiring.”
What has been your favorite snack so far:
Amryn: “Ummm, probably like string cheese and chips.”
Stella: “The paw patrol gummies.”
Will: “Paw patrol gummies.”
Melanie: “Ummm. Gummies.”
Sam: “I liked when we had otter pops last year.”
Elijah: “Capri Suns.”
Claire: “Gummy bears, the paw patrol ones.”

We went to Mr. Jordan's Math Advisory, Mr. Battison's Leadership Advisory, Mr. Koehler's weekly Announcements Advisory, Mrs. Richter’s Class, and Mr. Rosenquist’s class, and we asked 6 students about their dream vacation, where it would be, what would they do there, and who they would bring. Here are their responses:
Where is your dream vacation:
Quinn: “Fiji, because Fiji looks nice. The water was so clear there, we watched Survivor and it looked so nice.”
Isabella: “Cancun, because it’s a very pretty place, and there's this fair there and it’s so nice.”
Sanad: “Dubai, because it’s really nice there, and the weather is pretty cool.”
Luka: “Having my own like yacht, and going with Melanie, and friends.”
Kellar: “ Probably in Italy.”
Sarah Kate: “Probably to a tropical island, because you could look at all the beautiful things there, and swim.”
What would you do while you're there:
Quinn: “Swim, I don’t know, eat food. Also oh um, nevermind that will make me sound spoiled.”
Isabella: “I would go to the fair or carnival.”
Sanad: “Probably find like a good business job.”
Luka: “Swimming, snorkeling, and cliff diving. And I would do snowboarding but on water, and have some pineapple juice with ice in a bamboo cup.”
Kellar: “Walk around, and go see if there was any like stuff they were famous for, like cool things to see, and like the views, and I would probably go to like a lot of restaurants.”
Sarah Kate: “Swim, and do volleyball on the beach, and the other activities there.”
Who would you go with:
Quinn: “I don’t know, 5 friends.”
Isabella: “My sister.”
Sanad: “Let's go with Jared.”
Luka: “I would go with all my friends except for him (pointing at Kaden), and Melanie and her friends, and I would bring Mr. Jordan.”
Kellar: “My dad, and my dog.”
Sarah Kate: “Probably like the friends that I’ve made here, and my family.”

We went to middle and elementary levels and interviewed Mrs Towel’s 5th grade class, Mrs Krietzer’s 1st grade class, Mr. Battison’s Leadership Advisory, and Mr Lee’s Newspaper Advisory, and we asked students in these classes what their favorites were. Here were their responses:
What is your favorite t.v. show and why?
Riley: “Gossip Girl! It just has so much gossip, you know, and is so amazing.”
Micah: “Oh, I don’t really watch t.v.”
Jack: “Chip and Dale Rescue Ranger, because the bad guys lose and the Rescue Rangers win all the time.”
Luke: “A Series of Unfortunate Events, because it's one big series on these kids who are being followed by this guy.”
Dominic: “Once Upon a Time, because it’s awesome.”
What is your favorite book and why?
Riley: “Curious George, because it’s really good, and has the dude in the yellow hat.”
Micah: “Probably, this book called Unwind by Neil Chesterman, because it really presents our world in fascinating new ways.”
Jack: “Zoom Zoom, because I just like it.”
Luke: “Treasure Hunters, because the characters always want to go on treasure hunts and sometimes they find things they need and sometimes they save the world.”
Dominic: “My favorite book is Green Eggs and Ham, because Dr. Seuss is cool.”
What is your favorite food and why?
Riley: “Pasta, because it has an amazing flavor.”
Micah: “Pizza, because I like the delicious feeling on my taste buds.”
Jack: “Macaroni and cheese, and pizza because they're just really good.”
Luke: “Honey Nut Cheerios because they're good.”
Dominic: “Cheeseburger and fries, because they taste good.”

We went to Mrs Kellogg’s 6th grade science class, Mr. Jordan’s Math Advisory, and Mr. Lee’s Newspaper Advisory - and we asked students with braces five questions: What are the pros of braces, what are the cons of braces, why do you need braces, how long have you had braces, and what's your advice for people getting braces. Here were their responses:
What are the pros of braces?
Alex: “Your teeth will be straight”
Tacee: “My teeth are getting straightened”
Alison: “You get to be unique”
Sam: “To fix your teeth”
Joni: “Nothing, absolutely nothing”
What are the cons of braces?
Alex: “Everything”
Tacee: “The pain, and sometimes you get cut”
Alison: “Sometimes they hurt when you get a new wire to tighten them”
Sam: “It hurts to get your wires tightened, and you can only eat like two things, and you have to have them for a long time”
Joni: “Everything. I hate braces so much. I want them off”
Why do you need braces?
Alex: “My teeth are bad”
Tacee: “I have an overbite”
Alison: “Because I had a big overbite”
Sam: “Everyone's teeth are screwed up, and even if they look straight the roots can be messed up”
Joni: “Cause my teeth are crooked”
How long have you had braces/when are you getting them taken off?
Alex: “6 and a half months”
Tacee: “A year and a half”
Alison: “Over a year”
Sam: “Like 3 months”
Joni: “2 years”
What's your advice for people getting braces?
Alex: “Don't get braces, eat lots of ice cream, take pain relief”
Tacee: “Wait till your'e older, get the invisalign”
Alison: “Be cautious of what you eat and do, because sometimes you do something active and they break”
Sam: “Don’t eat hard things even if you think you can”
Joni: “Brush your teeth, and don’t chew gum”

On February 12, 2020 we interviewed middle schoolers, Mrs. Muskats Humanities Class, Mr Jordans Math Advisory, Mr. Lee’s Newspaper Advisory, and Mr Battisons Leadership Advisory to see what they thought about Tiktok.
Dylan: “Say so, because it shows a lot of character and it is fun to do.”
Claire: “Say so, because I like the song and it is really easy to learn.”
Elena: “Get up, it is fun and it is momentice.”
Hayley: “Holy moly, because I like the beat.”
Jumalai: “Renegade/Lottery, because it's good.”
Matt: “Out west, because travis scott is my rapper.”
Amryn: “Renegade/Lottery because it is iconic.”
Dylan: “Yes, totally.”
Claire: “Yes, I would say I am good at it.”
Elena: “Yes.”
Hayley: “Yeah I guess”
Jumalai: “I am okay at it.”
Matt: “Yeah”

Claire: “It's like a 3, it is honestly so annoying, everyone is addicted to it, and i don't even have it.”
Elena: “Um, a 9.”
Hayley: “6 or a 8, um a 6, no 8, yeah 8.”

There was a Middle School dance for Raleigh Hills students on February 7th, 2020. We went to Mr. Jordan’s Math Intervention class, Mr. Lee’s Newspaper Advisory, Mrs. Kellogg’s Science class, and Mrs. Muskat Humanities class, and we interviewed 6th-8th graders on what they thought about the dance.
Ginger: “Santos!”
Joni: “Dancing with a special someone.”
Santos: “Everything”
Melanie: “Being able to have a good time with all my friends.”
Cole: “Friends.”
Arcadia: “Taking pictures.”
Ginger: “I danced with Conner, Jake, Sam, Santos, Max, and an anonymous 6th grader.”
Joni: “Homies and that special one...oh yeah, food too.”
Santos: “Ginger, my friends, and Joni.”
Melanie: “That’s too personal and too deep.”
Cole: “No.”
Arcadia: “Just friends.”
Ginger: “10, no 11, no 15, no 20”
Joni: “8”

Melanie: “Solid 8 out of 10.”

Ginger (7th): “I like most of the teachers.”
Addie (3rd): “I like that my friends and sister are here.”
