Mr. Koehler is a 7th and 8th grade Science teacher, and teaches the weekly announcements advisory. In this advisory, every week you pick a topic to film for everyone to watch the next Monday. Making the weekly announcement, on Monday they start with watching and critiquing their work from the past weeks announcements as well as brainstorming ideas for the next week. On Tuesday they brainstorm more ideas and get it approved by Mr. Koehler then start filming. Wednesday and Thursday they are finishing up filming and start editing to turn in by Friday. You have watched them and their wonderful work, this is just more background information on this fun class.

In Mrs. Gooding’s kindergarten class they have a fun schedule. We went into their classroom in the afternoon and this is what we found. Recently it was the 100th day of school, and they finished up their “100 day of school crowns”, as well as coloring and painting 100 ice cream cones with their favorite flavors. In math the students are being taught how to recognize shapes, and are doing dreambox as well. Everyday Mrs. Goodreads reads dr. seuss books to them, then they read in their own groups. To finish the day they have a choice time where they can make things for their aunt, mom, friends, and family.

Currently, in Mr. Pletsch’s 5th grade class, they are sharing personal narratives and polishing their skills in writing. In the morning they do a warm up which includes math, cursive, and some reading. As a whole class they are reading the book “Masterpiece” by Elise Broach. If you have been in 5th grade you would know that Biztown is a big deal. Right now, Mr. Pletsch said the main thing that they are doing in class is getting ready for Biztown. There will be an update soon of how Biztown went for all 5th grade classes.

Quinn Baker is researching gun control and in the process of making a Ted Talk about her argument and will present it to the class. Mr. Battison said that people from the district are going to come to watch their ted talks presentations. Kaden Boynay said that for the rest of humanities the class is learning about “Kingdoms in Africa.” This is another research project that they are doing. They are reading in groups and on their own, trying to prove that Africa was a successful part of the world.
