HISTORY

The North American Mafia (also known as 'The Mafia' or 'The Mob' is an organised crime syndicate that originated in New York City in the late 19th-Century. Their first registered activity was in an article from the New Orleans Times which reported that the city's Second District had become overrun by "well-known and notorious Sicilian murderers, counterfeiters and burglars, who, in the last month, have formed a sort of general co-partnership or stock company for the plunder and disturbance of the city."

Post world war one, when prohibition was introduced across the united states of America (also known as the 18th Amendment of the United States constitution) meaning that the it was illegal to make or sell alcohol, however there was still a large demand in it, enter the Mafia. They would provide alcohol to the public, law enforcement and even Politicans which made them powerful as they even had a say in certain laws and bills. They gains control, physically and politically very quickly.

WARDROBE

The typical Mafia/organised crime outfits consisted of fine three piece suits with overcoats and fedoras or trilbies.
