Governance

Governance

On 1st February 2017 Barling Magna Primary School became a Primary Academy, joining Great Wakering Primary Academy as one of the two schools in The Brickfields Multi Academy Trust. Governance is now undertaken by a board of trustees. Their role is similar to that of governors in that they have three core functions:

  1. Ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction;

  2. Holding executive leaders to account for the educational performance of the organisation and its pupils, and the performance management of staff; and

  3. Overseeing the financial performance of the organisation and making sure its money is well spent.

Further information about our trustees can be found on our Trustees page and at www.brickfields.org.

Message from Chief Executive, Hayley O'Dea

Welcome to Barling Magna Primary Academy, part of The Brickfields Multi Academy Trust, we hope that you will find our website interesting and informative.

We established The Brickfields Multi Academy Trust in 2017 with the aim that all children within our community would have access to an outstanding quality of education. The schools in our trust work closely together to provide “Excellence and opportunity in partnership”.

Our board of trustees support and challenge school leaders to secure excellent outcomes and to ensure that;

  • positive relationships are at the heart of all we do

  • our learning environments ensure all pupils feel safe, cared for and listened to

  • a relevant, engaging and inspiring curriculum maximises learning

  • varied and challenging learning experiences meet the needs of every child

  • a wide range of extra-curricular opportunities are offered

  • independence, personal responsibility, perseverance and resilience are developed

  • parents and carers are a valued partner in the education of our pupils

Our trust currently employs around one hundred staff across our schools in a range of roles. Our staff work closely together and learn from each other, sharing best practice. Professional development and opportunities to work across our MAT schools encourages staff’s personal growth and ownership of their own development. Staff wellbeing is important to us and as a result we are viewed as an appealing employer and ambitious colleagues choose to join our high performing team

Whether you are considering joining our trust as a prospective parent or staff member we hope that the information found on our website will provide you with most of what you need, however do not hesitate to contact us further if you would like to find out more or if you would like to come along and see our schools in action.
