Welcome to my AP Portfolio!
The Dance of Identity
How can I artistically show how my view of my biracial identity has changed from childhood to the present?
In my portfolio, I used multiple mediums to illustrate specific events and feelings regarding my mixed-race identity throughout my childhood. In early childhood, I felt confused regarding my race which I depict in Cloud Switching using the white cloud to represent the innocence I felt while the black cloud represents my impending frustration. In my teenage years, I struggled with accepting my Black heritage. Through Acceptance of Change, I show my eventual acceptance with a portrait displaying my natural hair. My last piece Perfect Pieces combines multiple mediums to represent my happiness with my multi-racial self.
