WELCOME TO MY AP ART PORTFOLIO
Welcome to my senior show, Trapped In My Mind. My portfolio was guided by my inquiry question: How can I use my interest in psychology to display the emotional impact of human relationships & memories through my artwork? Starting my portfolio, I focused only on one emotion: happiness. I practiced different ways of expressing happiness through clay, focusing on the chemical compound associated with the happy emotion. While working I found the urge to revise and experiment with techniques to depict emotions other than happiness to show that life isn't always perfect. I reflected on the feelings that arose within myself this year and honed in on those: perfectionism, anger, loneliness, safety, guilt, and comfort. With my pieces, I try to take something impalpable and give it physical meaning and understanding.
