THE ART OF FUNCTION
Inquiry question: how can I make functional pieces where malfunction can conflict with the tradition or function of the piece? Guided by my inquiry question, I created functioning and non functioning vessels to challenge the idea of function. I wanted to shift the focus of the piece to how the intended function of the vessel can affect the user or the space it is in. In my portfolio, I focused on things that are obsolete and their functions irrelevant in today's day and age, ancient greek forms, and other vessels where the function is called into question.
