Welcome to A Level Psychology! We are looking forward to meeting you and exploring human behaviour together.

In your first year of the course, you will study the following topics:

We will explain what all of this means when we meet you properly in September, but for now below are some short introductory tasks for you to complete.

What is Psychology?

Task 1: Read the information on the below website and answer the questions that follow.

3. Identify four areas of behaviour that Psychologists investigate.

4. Briefly describe the 6 Psychological Approaches identified in the article.

5. Read the ‘What do Psychologists do?’ Which topic on this page do you find the most interesting and why.

6. Look at the list of movies/ documentaries- over summer, pick a few to watch.

In some ways, learning Psychology is like learning a new language. There are lots of new terms and concepts to learn, which you will need to be able to confidently use in all topics throughout the A level Psychology course.
