Well done on choosing Geography for your A level, we’re glad you’ve chosen this dynamic and relevant subject that will equip you with the tools and skills needed for the future. In Year 12 we start with Tectonic processes and Hazards and Globalisation. You may have studied parts of these topics before but we now delve into them in more depth and breadth. Prepare to find out a lot more on your own too.

Start to collect any background reading on natural hazards, and globalisation, this can be up to date case studies, news articles.
Access Prisoners of Geography and Divided - why we’re living in an age of walls books by Tim Marshall. They give a good basis of background study and knowledge. Both available as eBooks.
We are using Hodder Edexcel A level Geography book 1, if you can access this over the summer and read Tectonic Processes and Hazards topic 1, and Globalisation topic 3.
