Music is an incredibly diverse course, encompassing a variety of practical and academic approaches. The varied nature of this course will enable you to develop highly-desirable skills in areas such as self-management, teamwork, problem-solving, and communication; all of which makes you an attractive prospective for potential employers. To introduce your Music studies, you are asked to complete the tasks and be prepared to share.
There are six areas of study (genres of music) that we study for our A Level in music. One of them is Film Music. You need to learn about music from 2 films.
To prepare you for studying these pieces in detail, I would like you to:
1. Read the information that precedes the score.
2. Listen to the extracts - follow along with the score if you want to.
3. Watch the film (I will link to IMDB rather than any streaming service for licensing reasons) - and listen out for the extracts.
The first film is Batman Returns with music by Danny Elfman.
Come prepared to your first lesson ready to share with what you think about the film and its music, and any questions you have about any of the content.
