OVERVIEW
In A-Level Media Studies, 30% of the overall grade comes from a Non-Exam Assessment (NEA), which is marked in school with moderation samples submitted to AQA in the spring term of the examination year
Students will choose one of five briefs to complete, each of which are linked to the theoretical framework. Teachers will use their knowledge of the students to direct them to the brief that will give them the highest chance of success
The following deadlines are in place for students and staff (all deadline dates fall in the academic year of the final examination):
NEA STATEMENT OF INTENT DEADLINE 1st October
NEA FIRST DRAFT DEADLINE 1st December
NEA SECOND DRAFT DEADLINE 1st February
NEA FINAL DEADLINE 1st March
NEA to be marked by class teachers 1st April
Completion of standardisation and NEA marks
released to students 15th April
Student appeals deadline 25th April
Submission of marks and samples to AQA 7th May
