In this unit, students will:
apply media theories and frameworks, such as representation, audience, industry, and language,to the codes and conventions of magazine front covers and inside pages
explore ideas of masculinity and femininity as constructed identities within magazines
examine key concepts like the male gaze, female gaze, and queer gaze
considers the cultural industries context of magazine production, including ownership and revenue
investigate audience reception and the impact of digital convergence
