Meet the Coaches

Jason Creek, Head Coach

Coach Creek will be entering his 9th season as the head coach for the Big Spring Boys Basketball program. Before coming home to his alum matter Coach Creek was the head coach at West Perry High School in 2012-2013 and a varsity assistant at Carlisle Area High School in 2011-2012. Coach Creek has helped develop over 20 Mid-Penn League all-stars, 1 Carlisle Sentinel Area “Play of the Year”, and three 1,000-point scorers in his first 8 years as head coach at Big Spring High School. Coach Creek’s Bulldogs have tournament championships from the Biglerville Tip Off Tournament (2016 & 2017) and the Big Spring Holiday Classic (2015 & 2017).

Under Coach Creek’s guidance the Big Spring boys’ basketball program has strung together four straight double digit winning seasons from 2018-2021, for the first time since 1973. The program has also qualified for the PIAA District 3-AAAAA playoffs for each of the past three seasons consecutively, for the first time in school history. Coach Creek ranks 2nd in school history win 75 wins, behind Coach George Houck’s 112 (1956-1964).

Coach Creek is 2003 Big Spring Alumni, as well as a 2008 Shepherd University Alum. Coach Creek and his wife Emily reside in Newville, with their four children; Sheldon (8), Hadley (7), Cooper (3), and Knox (1).

Austin Myers, Assistant Coach

Austin Myers has coached as the Boys’ Basketball Varsity Assistant under Coach Jason Creek since the 2013-2014 season. Coach Myers also spent the 2012-2013 season as an assistant under Coach Creek with both the Varsity and Junior Varsity teams at West Perry High School. Coach Myers first coached Big Spring Basketball from 2003-2005 when he served as the Junior Varsity Coach under Coach Joel Martin.

Coach Myers is a 1999 graduate of Big Spring High School where he played football, basketball and track and field. Myers is a 2004 graduate of Shippensburg University, where he was a member of the Shippensburg University football team.

Austin is the owner of Myers Landscaping and Lawn Care. He lives in Shippensburg with his wife Heather and his sons Jordan (11) and Lincoln (8).

Wes Madden, Middle School Coach

Wes is an 1998 Big Spring graduate who played baseball and basketball in high school. He attended Randolph Macon College and played a year of basketball and four years of baseball. He has coached both high school and middle school basketball, and varsity baseball at Big Spring. He lives in the district with his wife and children, and works at a local engineering firm.
