August 22, 2022 Match

On August 22, the Big Spring golf team participated in our second match of the season at Greencastle Golf Club. The team finished in 7th place, moving our record to 1-11 for the season. Josh Motter posted the team’s best result with a score of 81, which was good for a 4th place finish out of all 45 golfers. Noah Williams finished in second place for the team with a score of 91. This put him in 14th place for the match out of all 45 golfers. Additionally, Parker Drawbaugh set a personal best score with a round of 104. The team’s next match is on August 30 at Great Cove Golf Club.

September 13, 2022 Match

On September 13, the Big Spring golf team participated in our fifth match of the season at the Chambersburg Country Club. The team finished in 5th place, earning a 2-4 record for the day and moving our record to 10-20 for the season. Josh Motter posted the team’s best score with an 87, which was good for a 7th place finish out of all 50 golfers. Noah Williams finished in second place for the team with a score of 91, which was good for 11th place amongst all 50 competitors. Tommy Copits was third for the team with a score of 95, which was good for a 15th place finish amongst all 50 golfers, making this his second consecutive top 15 finish in a match. Parker Drawbaugh finished in 4th place for the team, setting his personal best score of 100. The team’s next match is on September 14 at Gettysburg National Golf Club.


September 14, 2022 Match

On September 14, the Big Spring golf team participated in our sixth match of the season at the Gettysburg National Golf Club. The team finished in 6th place, earning a 1-5 record for the day and moving our record to 11-25 for the season. Noah Williams posted the team’s best score with an 85, which was good for a 8th place finish out of all 50 golfers. Josh Motter finished in second place for the team with a score of 89, and Tommy Copits was third with a score of 95. Owen Drawbaugh came in fourth for the team with a 96, besting his previous personal best score by 13 shots. The team’s final regular season match is on September 19 at Range End Golf Club.


September 19, 2022 Match

On September 19, the Big Spring golf team participated in our seventh and final regular season match of the season at Range End Golf Club. The team finished in 6th place, earning a 1-5 record for the day and moving our record to 12-30 for the season. Josh Motter posted the team’s best score with a 75. This was his personal best round by 4 strokes, and was good for a 3rd place finish out of all 35 golfers. This was the fifth best individual performance by a Big Spring golfer in the past decade, an incredible achievement for Josh. Noah Williams finished in second place for the team with a score of 95. Finally, Parker Drawbaugh put up the third best score for the team, setting a new personal best round with a score of 97.


September 21, 2022 Mid Penn Day 1

On September 21, the Mid Penn Conference Golf Tournament began play. The top 90 players total from all 4 Mid Penn divisions qualified for the tournament. Players ranked 1-40 received a bye directly to the second day of the tournament, which will be on September 27. For Big Spring, Josh Motter was the only player to receive a bye. Noah Williams was ranked in the 41-90 range, and those players were competing on day 1 for 10 spots to move on to the second day. Noah ended up shooting a 93, and he was not able to qualify for the second day of the tournament. He did outperform his expected finish amongst the field based on his ranking going into the day. Noah had a great season, and we look forward to Josh’s performance next week on day 2.


September 27, 2022 Mid Penn Day 2

On September 27, the Mid Penn Conference Golf Tournament continued with the second day of play. 50 players from all 4 Mid Penn divisions were vying for 26 spots in the District III tournament. Josh Motter was competing in the tournament for Big Spring. Josh shot an 87, missing the playoff for the final spots to Districts by a single shot. Josh qualified for the Mid Penn Tournament for all 4 seasons of his high school golf career, which is a tremendous achievement. Overall, the Bulldogs had a great season, and we look forward to returning a majority of our roster next year.
