Three times a year we run through a registration process to sign up for sports. The fall season sign ups run May to August. The winter season sign ups are from October to November. The spring season sign ups are January through February. All student athletes must register through our TeamSnap platform. This tool is used by coaches to communicate and maintain schedules. Our trainers use it for emergency contact information. It is also where you digitally sign off on important documents required by the Athletic Department. Below are the directions and links to sign up for the current/upcoming season.
Registration
We are ready to register for the 2025-26 winter sports season. All student-athletes must register through TeamSnap as it's our communication and registration platform for all sports. Some of our teams have used TeamSnap for years. TeamSnap provides one communication platform for all of our coaches, student-athletes, and families. No more needing to download multiple (Remind, Band, Group Me) apps. This is a way for parents to have all their Big Spring Athletics communications all in one place. The app also allows our coaches to share schedules, gather input, and much more. Second, this now allows the Athletic Department to collect all required documents and get sign offs on them digitally, with the exception of the PIAA Physical Form. You will also now be able to pay the Activity Fee online (for a small fee). You will still have the option to pay using cash or check. If you wish to pay with cash or check, simply select the pay with cash option in the process and pay directly to the coach once the season starts. Those who are in the Free and Reduced Lunch program should select cash and reach out to Ms. Winesickle (jwinesickle@bigspring.k12.pa.us) to secure a waiver. The medical information gathered in the registration process is the same information gathered on our Emergency Forms each season and will only be accessible to the athletic trainers, coach, and school administrators. This is a much more secure way of holding this information than our trainers and coaches carrying paper emergency forms in a folder.
Walking you through the registration process, you will:
1. To begin registration, please use thisTeamSnap link.
2. Create or if you’ve already used TeamSnap select a participant (your student athlete)
3. Select the sport you are registering for
4. Complete the participant (student athlete) information, followed by the Guardian Information, then the additional questions. The additional questions are the information gathered on the paper Emergency Information Form.
5. Review your registration information and add a second student athlete here if you wish, otherwise checkout
6. Sign off on the Bully/Cyberbullying Policy, Hazing Policy, the Parent Promise, Code of Conduct, and Insurance Information forms. When signing use your (the parent’s) initials that match what you put in for first and last name at the beginning.
7. Checkout and pay. This is where you can choose cash option or pay by card.
Once you go through the registration process, you should be automatically registered with the team that you selected. If you have more than one child in sports, you will need to complete a registration for each. You can add family members at this point. When adding family members they will need to accept an invite in order to start seeing things.
The sooner you register, the sooner you will have access to the communications from your coaches. Coaches are also starting to set up their accounts so it may take a little bit until all of the schedules are populated in TeamSnap for their teams. We understand that there are a few sports that will have to make cuts. If you register and pay before cuts are made, we will be sure to reimburse your activity fee.
If you need assistance setting up the app on your phone or on the computer, please refer to this guide.
The biggest hiccup we encounter with registration was that if the team does not appear in TeamSnap for you the parent, please have your child check their emails and accept you as a household member.

Sports Physicals
Sports Physicals are required by PIAA. Big Spring offers four free dates where sports physicals are conducted by our team doctors. You are more than welcome to also get these physicals with your own family physician. A couple of things to remember:
The physical must be completed by a Pennsylvania authorized medical examiner.
All physicals for the following year must be dated May 1 or later. For example, if you are getting a phyical to play field hockey in the 2025 fall season, your physical must be dated May 1 or after.
You only need one physical per year. If you are playing multiple sports, you (the parent) will need to complete a Section 7 for each season.
Below is information pertaining to the required documentation and free physicals offered for the current/upcoming season.
Winter sports physicals will be held on Thursday, November 6th. This free sports physical is for Winter athletes ONLY. If you already obtained a fall sport physical or received a sports physical on your own dated May 1st, 2025, or later, you do NOT need another physical. You will only need section 7.
Winter Sports physicals will take place on Thursday, 11/6/25 from 3:00pm-5:30pm for high school and middle school winter sports athletes. Physicals will be held in the adaptive gym in the high school.
In order to obtain a physical, you will need to sign up for an allotted time slot using the appropriate link below and you will need to turn in your physical packet completed in its entirety (this includes all parent and student signatures on section 1-5 and explanations to questions answered yes on section 5) to the athletic office or high school office by 3:00 pm Thursday, October 30th. If you do not sign up AND turn in your physical packet by October 30th, you will NOT obtain a physical. Also, your emergency contact sheets are due prior to or on the first day of winter sports as well. If you do not turn this in you will not be able to participate in sport until all paperwork is turned in and completed. Please make sure to turn in all your paperwork into the high school office.
