Username: Your username consists of the first letter of your first name, followed by your surname
Example: Steven Jones will be sjones
Password: Your password will be provided to you by the IT department
This username and password is used in many systems, including, but not limited to: Computer logon, Emails, Wi-Fi, Parents Evening System & Room Booking System.
There are 3 main network shared drives to save work into:
S: - Documents
This is your private area to save everything that only you will need access to.
G: - Staff Share
This is locked to Staff only and is for all resources that staff want to share and have access to
i.e. policies, meeting minutes and lesson plans etc.
R: - (Student) Resources
This is a read only area for Students. Staff can save any files required for student to access and use
i.e. templates, class exercises and information etc.
NOTE: Photos of students should NOT be stored here.
The Staff Intranet will be set as your homepage. This includes links to a range of our systems, including, but not limited to: IT and FM support, Room Booking and Parents Evening Systems & the Student Intranet.
The external Staff Portal is available through our main website: www.bidefordcollege.org in the top right hand side of the page, or on the menu under Learning > Staff Portal.

On site, emails are accessible through Outlook and the Staff Intranet.
From home, you can access emails via the staff portal, located on the External Staff Portal or via the following link: https://owa.bidefordcollege.org/owa
Students have access to an internal only email system. Further details can be found in the on this site.
SIMS can be launched using the SIMS.net icon available on the Desktop or via the Start Menu > All Programs > SIMS and will automatically log in using your default credentials
If you are unable to access SIMS then contact IT for assistance; for all other SIMS queries, contact our Data Manager, on x1556, our Data Manager can also be located in C3B.
Printers across site can be logged into with your staff access card. The first time the card is used on a printer, you will need to type in your default login credentials; this will link up your card with your account.
When printing, you can print to the ‘Follow You BW’ and the ‘Follow You Colour’ printers. After you’ve clicked print, a popup will appear asking you to select a department to charge the printing to. For copying, this is done on the printer itself. You can sign in to any of the large printers based around the site and print what was sent to the Follow You printers.

Purchasing food from the canteen is done through a cashless catering system. See the Catering Manager in Stucley Dining Hall for enrolment.
Your cashless catering account can be topped up online through the ParentPay website: https://app.parentpay.com/public/client/security/. Please speak to our Finance team to enroll onto this website.
Wireless is available for Staff and Sixth Formers to use with personal devices.
The wireless network is called “BC_BYOD”, a password ( wifiaccess ) is required the first time you connect.
You will be required to authenticate daily with your default credentials to access the Internet.
The first time you connect, you will need to visit http://smoothwall/getmitm in order to download and install a certificate using the instructions provided.
You can access your files and applications from home using your full college email address and password, via the link in the External Staff Portal or via the following link: https://bidefordcollege.org/remote-access/

If your department has a laptop trolley, you can book it out via the Room Booking System. This can be accessed via the Staff Intranet > room booker. You will need to log in using your default credentials (the ones detailed at the start of this page).
All staff can book the IT suites through the same website.
We use Parents Evening System to manage our parents evenings, this can be accessed through the Staff Intranet > parents evening. You will need to log in into with your default credentials (the ones detailed at the start of this page).
As a teacher, you can view the computer/laptop screens of the classroom you are currently in. To do this, we use AB tutor; this can be accessed through the Start Menu > AB Tutor > click ‘Ok’ (A password is not required).

Students work can be accessed in a read only view, through the Start Menu > Computer > V drive. The students are organised by the year they started.
We have a number of digital displays around the site. If you would like for something to be displayed on the displays, for instance, to advertise a school related event, then please email us your advert in PowerPoint format to IT@bidefordcollege.org
