Description: An advanced second year course in biology designed to enable the student to develop advanced inquiry and reasoning skills, such as collecting and analyzing data, applying mathematical routines, and connecting concepts in and across domains. The goal is to increase the student’s readiness for the study of advanced topics in subsequent college-level science courses. Key concepts encompass the core scientific principles, theories and processes governing living organisms and biological systems. Students will study evolution, cellular processes of energy and communication, genetics and information transfer, and complex interactions of biological systems. Students will prepare for the Biology AP exam given in the spring.
