Program of Study 

The Teaching program of study prepares learners for careers related to teaching, instruction, and creation of instructional and enrichment materials. The program of study introduces learners to a wide variety of student groups and their corresponding needs. It familiarizes them with the processes for developing curriculum, coordinating educational content, and coaching groups and individuals.

Opportunities to Build Expertise

Capstone Experience

Students at the conclusion of the Teaching Program of Study have the opportunity to participate in the Practicum in Education & Training course.  This opportunity allows the students to become student teachers for a BISD Elementary or Junior High class each day of the week.  Students are able to assist teachers in preparing lessons, presenting lessons, and other activities of an elementary or junior high classroom.  This real world experience can help prepare them for a career in teaching as an educational aide, teacher, or administrator.

High School/Industry Certification

Educational Aide I (after Instructional Practices and student must be 18 years of age or older)

Associate Degree 

Students can earn an Associate Degree by the end of HS through Bellville Collegiate P-TECH, at no cost
