The High School League reversed its earlier decision, and now Football and Volleyball are returning to fall with shortened seasons.
Looks like we get two Falls this year! Who says you have to wait 'till Christmas for presents?
Get yourself signed up for the Football TechTeam, because the first game is next week on Friday, October 9.
Between Kennedy and Jefferson there are 6 home games, and we'll be covering all of them. Most are on Fridays, but there's also a Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday. Cuz, hey, COVID. Check out the Shoots Calendar for the most current dates, as these may be subject to change. (Again, cuz, hey, COVID). If you've got a standing commitment (like Marching Band) and need to join us later than the usual crew call time of 3pm, we can live with that. Just let us know!
We also are working to get all the away football games covered, whether that's by us or by a neighboring station.
Also yep, we're hoping to get Volleyball coverage rolling once we wrap up Swimming & Soccer. (Volleyball would be Wednesdays and Fridays) So plenty to keep us all hopin'
We've been covering EVERY home swim meet, EVERY home soccer game, and even a marching band concert. The community has given us great feedback. Because fans are limited or banned (Cuz, hey. COVID), being able to watch online is a HUGE thing. People have even been watching and checking in from around the world. You guys - as you partner with BEC-TV - Are being treated like Heroes!
There's still a couple weeks of soccer and swimming left, as we get football & volleyball started. That means we could REALLY use you on the crew! If you've been on the sidelines this fall, NOW is a great time to come on back!
The award winning studio show "Inside Football" will be back again this year, just in a different format. We still need a couple people on the crew. This will be mostly Tuesdays, 5-7:30pm. Join us and let's win more awards together!
Got any friends that might be interested in BEC? Invite them! We're unable to recruit at your school this year, (Cuz, hey. COVID) but we're still definitely accepting new volunteers.
We LOVE being together making great television again, but we're determined to keep everyone safe. We've implemented the following safety measures:
Social Distancing: Spreading out positions, limiting the amount of people in the truck
Masks: Always in the truck or in buildings, and whenever near people outside or required by the facility.
Keeping it Clean: Lots of hand sanitizer, and wiping down gear, surfaces, & headsets between uses.
Health Checks: You know the symptoms. Stay home if you even THINK you've got any!
Crew Size: TV Crews are counted towards the total number of people allowed at an event, so there will be a limit on the amount of crew we can have.
