It's that time of year again, and we are super excited to announce our winter shoot list. Gosh DIDDLY DARN!
Most of the winter shoots will be crewed by TechTeams. If ya' want "in" on shoots, join a TechTeam!
The Bench
If you are too busy for shoots this winter, you can put yourself on the bench. When on The Bench, we won't pester you about shoots (unless we're really short on crew, or we think it's a good fit for you) but you'll still get our regular updates. When it comes time for Spring TechTeams we'll reach out to you again.
Signing Up
Sign up for TechTeams by filling out your interest on the form linked above. We'll do our best to place you on the team(s) you want, but we can't promise anything. The quicker you respond, the more likely you'll get what you want!
About TechTeams
TechTeams following a day will cover everything on that day. TechTeams following a sport will cover all of that sport. When they overlap, the crews will be combined or rearranged as needed. In those cases, assume you're on unless we tell you otherwise.
If you are too busy for a TechTeam, but still want to do shoots, we have a few individual shoots you can sign up for separately.

Hockey
BEC makes hockey the 'hottest game on ice'.
Because hockey is one of our most popular productions with our techs, those who are applying to the hockey tech team who ALSO sign up with one of the other Tech Teams will receive mad brownie points, and a better chance at a spot on the crew.
We cover select games for Kennedy & Jefferson Boys Varsity teams, and the combined Kennedy/Jefferson Girls Varsity team. We may sometimes pick up a couple JV games as well.
We generally cover the Saturday games, but there may be a couple games during the week. Once we establish the crew, we will let you know about the specific schedule.
All the hockey games we cover are at the Bloomington Ice Gardens (BIG). These games are all on Rink 1, and we use the truck to cover them. The truck will be set up on the south side of the building, which is visible from 98th street.
As always, all of our hockey games go out live on BEC and sometimes are picked up by other local stations around the metro area. The games will be going out on Facebook Live as well.
Basketball
We will be covering all sorts of Basketball this year, as usual. But this year it's getting it's very own Crew! Sign up to make BEC History with us.
The Basketball TechTeam will meet on various Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, and one Saturday. We are covering 1-2 games a week.
Techs will be able to get to know the ins and outs of the truck and our new HD fiber-optic Jefferson system.
We cover the boys' and girls' varsity teams from each school, and "Battle of Bloomington" JV games. That's a lot of Hoops!
Tuesday & Thursday Tech Teams
Want to work on more than just sports? Then these tech teams are the move for you! Join one of these Tech Teams to be available for all of the miscellaneous shoots that we do during the week.
Get your schedule regular! These tech teams meet every week on Tuesdays or Thursdays (depending which one you join, obviously).
On weeks without shoots, techs will go to the BEC HQ for Tech Nights, or training, or something straight up fun (not that shoots aren't fun...), or they'll just get a night off.
When Basketball is on Tuesday or Thursday, both crews are still on. Often when this happens, there's multiple shoots that night. In that case, we have just the right number of techs. If the only shoot is Basketball, we'll combine the crews and have a larger crew, or give one of them a night off.
