Google Slides is an incredibly versatile tool that can be used for so many different purposes. Teachers can use to present and organize information, to create hyper docs, and share resources for students. The class can create a collaborative slide deck with each student or group having slides to share their thinking. Students can also create slides to present information or use as a digital journal of their learning/thinking. It can be adapted in so many ways!
The Google Slide deck embedded below is a huge collection of resources and trainings curated by BSD and organized by difficulty with a Table of Contents and links to MANY resources. It is also an example for how to use Google Slides to share resources.

The SAMR model, developed by Dr. Ruben Puentedura (see more here), reminds us to think about ways to use technology to redefine tasks and add functions that could not be done without the technology, rather than substitutions all the time. Below are some ways Google Slides can be used at each stage of the SAMR Model.
Substitution = Use as a presentation software.
● Augmentation = Use as a textbook replacement with interactive multimedia features or sharable PDF.
● Modification = Build a research journal and share with other students for feedback comments.
● Redefinition = Build a story or self-directed lesson with multiple paths using links and buttons.
