The BSD Software Review Committee's goal is to review software and web services to ensure the following:
Alignment with current curriculum
Protection of staff and student data
Compatibility with BSD network, devices, and systems
New software or services intended for use on BSD devices or networks must go through this process. We strongly recommend using a "Recommended" or "Additional Approved" application listed because they are significantly easier to use and manage, and offer strong integrations with existing BSD systems.
Therefore, please contact your building LITT or a content TOSA if you have questions about an application or website that you do not see before generating a Help Desk Ticket.
To submit a request visit the Software Request page. You will find instructions and timetables for when the committee meets to formally process requests.
The following applications have been reviewed for student data privacy and educational effectiveness, and do not meet the District's standards. For a more comprehensive list that is searchable visit the SDPC site.
The Legal, Technology, and Teaching & Learning Departments have requirements for student data privacy and curriculum compliance. We are also subject to various Federal and State laws and Board of Education policies. Because of these requirements, we ask that you ONLY use the approved applications listed above. This list is only here to communicate that these apps are frequently requested, but have not met our requirements. Please help us protect student privacy by not using these apps, or any other unapproved app:

In an effort to be more transparent and communicative, all Ed-Tech Tools that are not being renewed are listed here:
A small team regularly reviews the digital applications that are being used for:
Amount of usage
Redundancy with other tools
Renewal of the application's vetted status and/or Student Data Privacy Agreement (SDPA)
This process will help manage resources more efficiently and ensure that the best tools are available for our students and staff. The goal is to keep both the student’s and teacher’s data safe and secure.
Please keep in mind, when a tool is retired, the vendor deletes all associated data to ensure safety within 60 days of the SDPA expiration date. Single Sign-On, if applicable, will also be disabled. This is only for tools that have Data Privacy Agreements in place.
If you find that you need a retired tool back, please put in a Help Desk ticket and it will be reviewed as soon as possible.
If you have any questions or need further clarification, please don’t hesitate to reach out to either Steve Simpson or Carrie Sutton. Together, we can continue to provide the best learning experience for our students.
