Credit Recovery-BEAM

(Burlington-Edison Academy of Mastery)

The Burlington Edison School District has teamed up with OSPI’s Digital Learning Department to offer an online learning experience geared to supplement credit recovery options and offer courses that enrich a student’s learning at Burlington Edison High School.

BEHS students needing to make up core credits or upper-class students seeking courses unavailable locally may have access to a wide variety of courses including Math, Science, History, English, and others.

Students work on BEAM courses during regular class periods and in some cases in after-school 7th-hour time slots in a dedicated computer lab on campus at BEHS. All BEAM students are encouraged to work on their courses outside of school hours and can do so anytime and anywhere they have computer/internet access.

To learn more about registration or other information about BEAM, please see your counselor!

Students enrolled in a BEAM course and have an assigned BEAM class period are expected to log on to their program and work every day in their BEAM class. Work outside of class is highly encouraged. Students are also required to establish regular contact with their dedicated online teacher.
Students are generally expected to complete a BEAM course within the academic term when they enroll in the course. Within that time frame, students may work at their own pace and ability, but are coached to adhere to a learning plan that they create upon starting a course. An onsite mentor is available to assist students with course content, technical issues, and other issues they may encounter.
The Burlington-Edison High School is committed to helping students graduate and become college ready. BEAM is designed to give students options to help them move toward graduation by making up failed credits or earning credits to meet graduation requirements. Preparing for college is supported through BEAM by offering courses that help students become college ready or to enhance their college selection process. ✔️ Possible costs: Begins at $100+ dependent on course(s) + $35 registration fee for enrichment courses. ✔️ Credit: .5✔️ When: Open Enrollment ✔️ Days: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday from 2:30-3:25 pm✔️ Where: BEAM RoomStudent should also plan to work at home to complete their course on time. How to register: See your counselor to get signed up for BEAM (online learning).
