The Brunswick High School Art Department offers a plethora of courses accommodating the student who desires a broader understanding of the world of fine art as well as the individual who desires in-depth background training for a career in the Visual Art's Field. The acquired skills of fine arts are transferable and contribute to holistic career readiness for any professional field. We dedicate this site to our students who through dedicated learning persistence seek to embody the qualities of professional artists in skill, quality, cultural awareness and creative thinking.
Learning takes time and determination. Our art courses teach youth that skills improve over time with calculated and sustained effort. Philosophically establishing a growth mindset is the key to future success in any occupation. Coupled with robust art techniques, this assures student empowerment for this sustained growth is realized.
We want our students to stand out in their prospective professions. We design secondary lessons in close alignment to future college and employer expectations. We tailor specific media lessons to high outcome standards enabling us to assure students develop rigorous expectations for their achievement.
Art is the domain for developing innovative problem solvers. The artistic process promotes student confidence to take risks on inspired ideas, sustain planning, focus their attention, and practice complex and evaluative thinking. Creativity encapsulates the highest level of human performance. Art fosters the skills promoting ingenuity to overcome life’s greatest challenges.
