"As one of my last projects of the year where I used mostly neutrals, I decided to paint the base of this vase very bright peachy tones to accent the roses and dark green leaves to stray from my usual work and experiment with new styles."

Artist Statement:
"My goal in creating this project was to make a simple fountain that is inspired by nature and all it's colors. I knew I wanted to keep the design minimalistic and add my details in glaze. The form of my fountain is made up of two cubes and one post. I then used plain colors for the background but added many different colors while painting on the intricate floral pattern on the bottom. I am pleased with how my project turned out and I really like how the sound of the flow of water contributes to the theme of nature."Artist Statement:

"In creating this piece I made many slabs and connecting them by slipping and scoring I also made many curved slabs so it could add some rock effect. I wanted to create something for outside and I picked a rock. my idea was to carve into the rock and make many turns and many textures. the strength I had on building this was making it very sturdy and supportive and I think it came out perfect."Artist Statement:

"When I began this project, I didn't really know what direction I would take. I just started building and whatever came out of it I used. I'm happy with it, especially the glazing design. I think the waves represent me in a way. How it just flows. The colors black and blue go good together as well.Artist Statement:
Art Background: Willem developed his fountain and after testing it for workability needs, he added a piece to assure it not only worked properly, but was aesthetically beautiful as well. It is this type of commitment that makes for an amazing artist.

"I rolled out many even slabs without any bubbles in order to make the walls of the base piece that wraps around, the bottom of the base and, the draining shelf with coils to adhere all of them. I added my colors and It was difficult keeping the colors separated and deciding on colors. After the kiln I put in the pump and admired my work. I'm really happy with the opacity of the colors on the top of the piece and the overall effectiveness of the fountain. This piece helps calm my dad to sleep with the noise at night and he loves it. This project was a redemptive piece. It was created just before the Covid shutdown occurred in March 2020. Upon returning to a second ceramics course in February of 2021, Jose desired to glaze his unfinished masterpiece and have the last word on Covid. "In creating this piece I wanted to use lots of detailed coils. I created many different spirals and arches that formed into each other. I chose to paint each type of coiled piece the same color. "Artist Statement:

Artist Statement:
"I built this wonderful fairygarden-inspired fountain using slabs and coils. The purpose of making this fountain was to have a spot to "recharge" my crystals. I would place moon water in the basin and crystals that needed to be cleansed on each pedestal. The water would trickle from the top cleans the crystals I have placed on the fountain. It was a long process of wedging, rolling and, slipping pieces together. Once fired I used a stippling technique that allowed me to get the color and pattern on the actual clay itself. I then used epoxy to attach the faux moss and stones onto the outside of the piece."Artist Statement:

"In the final stages of my ceramic piece, I began adding hues to accent the piece. The first color I used was white. I painted the whole center where the koi fish were white. Next I mixed the white paint and red paint to make orange. As koi fish are spotted with different colors, I painted parts of the fish orange, red and black. For the roof, I wanted a hue of dark hunter green. I mixed the green paint with black to come up with the perfect consistency for the rook and base. "Artist Statement:

"I started my project by making a circular base and slipping and scoring a huge slab onto it. I then bubbled out the bottom to create the base of my lamp. In the first half of my days of building my goals were to design a unique shape and to make sure I was keeping it neat when constructing it. After looking at my project more closely, I decided that I did not like the shape I created. To fix it, I cut the circular base out from the bottom and made a cut right above the part that I bubbled out. I then slipped and scored these two pieces together to make a simple cylinder shape. I finished the construction of my lamp by adding two more slabs on top to get the height that I wanted. Finally, I cut the holes for the wiring and added a stem on the top of my lamp." "This is my fountain I created. I wanted to make this with a simple and open design. I decided to allow the water to flow as separate streams flowing like a waterfall. "In creating this series I used two building techniques for the different pots. For the smaller two pots, I made one pinch pot only and built it to the size I liked, while smoothing the sides. For the larger two of the four pots, I made one half of a pinch pot and then created another pinch pot to slip and score on top of the base pot. I then cut the top off or created a hole in the bottom that I worked into a ring. I smoothed the halves together and blended the sides. For the leaves on the front, I just took a slab and carved a leaf out with my needle tool. I had to do this four times, then slipped and scored each onto the side of its corresponding pot. Finally, I painted each with a different variety of color patterns, using the same color scheme for unity."Artist Statement:

"In creating this piece I formed the shape of the piece using slabs and coils. I made the sun using slabs and then cut them into shape. I made all the triangles individually and the circle and attached them one by one so that their would be a divide. After it dried slightly, I attached the sun to the lamp and used the back of a tiny paintbrush to put details in like eyes and a nose. When glazing, I ‘kept these things in mind and added the hues accordingly. Overall it captured the art of tarot cards with a modern twist that I love. "Artist Statement:

"In creating this piece I took inspiration to create it based on Technoblade, a content creator with over 7 million subscribers on YouTube. In the middle of the piece is his mascot, a pig dressed in a crown and cape, like a king. The symbols around the pig represent things he is known for, for example, the little character in the bottom left corner represents another YouTuber that he is friends with and often collaborates. "Drawing out the main focus of the vase, the tiger, I was focused on the details in the face, from the teeth to the stripes and the eyes, it was a struggle to get the final product that I was happy with. Next, I moved on to the details surrounding the tiger, with shapes and patterns. Making the details flow together and make the main focus stand out was challenging but achievable in the end.
