"How can I create imaginative landscapes through the eyes of different animals." For this first painting i used the perspective of puffin birds. In which they see Ultra violet light/ purpler than purple, blacks and whites, pinks, blues, and greens more than yellow. for the "imaginative landscape" I used texture, twisting trees, plants, vines, flowers, mushrooms and the giant seashells for the puffin birds to nest in." - Lauren Uhler

"This piece is a part of a larger collection of works that showcase the relationships between mythical creatures and toxic relationships. For this work in particular, I wanted to focus on the idea of "alienation". Specifically, I wanted to reveal how abusive partners tend to remove their victims from support groups, such as friends and family. I chose to use a digital medium for this piece as it allowed me to draw a variety of unique textures and colors that give the piece a strange, unearthly feeling." - Avery Wrentmore
