"I made Tyler The Creator because he’s one of my favorite artist. I’m proud of how this came out because of how close the resemblance is. I do think I could have made the glasses neater, and personally I liked the colors more when they were matte."

" This is my favorite piece I made in Ceramics One and Ceramics Two, so far. I love how this turned out and it made me more confident in my artistic abilities. I’m happy with the color choices and how clean it came out."

The work was created using slabs, coils and pinched sections. The snakes tail needed sponge armatures to hold it in position as it dried. The snake was chosen to showcase the water flow in an aesthetically pleasing way. Each scale was created using a sgraffito tool. Neutral tones garnish the walls, whereas strong and vivid red, green and yellow accentuate the focal point.

" For my luminary, I was inspired by my character bust. Tyler the Creator’s brand, Golf Le Fleur, has a suitcase. I decided to put a phone inside the suitcase because of his album, “Call me if you Get Lost.” Glazing the inside was very difficult, but I’m happy with the outcome. Next time, I would pick a lighter color for the outside. "

"I like how this piece turned out. It was a challenge and struggled my artistic skill making the face look realistic. I would changed the black lines between each snake. It made the bust look like it is in a comic style, which I was not planning on doing. I like how the snakes turned out. I am happy I did not add two or more coats to the spots, so they turned out more unique and different on their own."

"To create this lamp, I rolled out 3 slabs, the base, and the two sides. I then made the center pipe where the cord goes through to make it look more clean. Next, I rolled out a piece of clay with my hands and attached it to the center pipe. The challenging part of this project was getting the cord through the center and out the back. "

"This piece was made of a combination of slabs and coils, as well as armature pieces. It was challenging to keep the piece together, as well as sealing the cracks that would come later. However, with that, I was able to do detailed work using acrylic paint. This piece was inspired off of a game I like- with her being my favorite character."

"My fountain was created by building slabs, then slipping and scoring coils so the walls do not fall apart. To create the slab I used a rolling pin and two wooden sticks as its track to make them even. The most challenging part of this was thinking about how I wanted the fountain to actually look. If I were able to go back, I would want to make the fountain look more symmetrical."

"In creating this piece I had a lot of fun and I was pretty confident it was going to work well. I love how the colors turned out and look together. The gnome looks so cute and the fountain works very well. The little sign was a contribution to my dog who I lost a year ago, so this project has some meaning to me. Overall I'm very happy with the outcome of my project."

"I made this piece by maneuvering my hands enough to create the pot that was in a good shape to cut the petals out. I used the needle tool the most out of all the tools, but the rib and ribbon tool were also used in the beginning. Pink lilies symbolize femininity, love, and admiration so I wanted to make one that looked like a handful of the petals had been pulled off to also show someone was playing the game “Love me, Love me not."

"There were many steps I had to take in order to create this piece. First, I built a small box that would be used as the base to hold the water. I then created the two poles that the water would travel up through to reach the steps. I encountered a problem when I needed to create the different layers the water would run between. Although I slipped and scored, they kept falling off of the big uprights. I ended up having to use sponges to keep them attached until they became leather hard and they could support themselves. After I finished the piece, it was fired, and I was able to glaze it. After it was finally finished, we were able to add water and see how it works. I was very happy with my piece because the colors compliment each other well and there were no leaks! This piece taught me a lot about how to overcome problems and create a piece that was able to use running water for its aesthetic. "

"The character I chose to do is actually one of my own creation! Her name is Armani and she is very dear to me as she is one among the very first characters I have ever created. This was a wonderful opportunity to bring her to life, though I now wished that I had painted with acrylic instead to get colors that were less saturated. Regardless, I had a wonderful time making it."

"I wanted to recreate one of my favorite Marvel characters, Vision. I really wanted it to look a lot like the actual character. My building goals in creating the face was to make it look realistic and carefully add the details of the suit into the face. My goal for glazing was to make sure I had enough coats so that everything looked clean and even."

"For my character bust I created a cylinder for the neck, then I made a big slab for the shoulders, and lastly formed my head with newspapers in the head to keep it from caving in. All the features came last, but it took two days for each feature on the face to be sculpted. I applied three coats of glaze on everything to make it come out clean and bold. I used every tool in the cup on my table."

"I created this fountain mainly using the slab method. I made the base first, then created the slab that all the mushrooms were attached to. I created this theme because I love mushrooms and earthy things. It was challenging making all the cups even that the water goes into. My favorite thing about this project is the two little mushrooms in the corner."
