Mission Statement

The mission of Composition and Literary Studies is to promote critical thinking, reading, and writing; to support intellectual inquiry and academic rigor; to explore the insights and aesthetics of various literary and rhetorical traditions; to sustain the virtues and values of the Liberal Arts; and to build a successful community engaged in civil discourse, the pursuit of knowledge, and social justice.
