Academic Testing for Live Courses

Effective Fall 2021, ACC Testing Centers no longer offer test proctoring for academic exams in ACC courses. Remote proctored testing is available through the Distance Education department for courses taught using the ONL mode. Traditional on-campus lecture courses, hybrid courses (HYC/HYD), and synchronous online courses (DLS) must utilize alternate testing arrangements. Faculty should refer to the TLED Testing Guide for more information. Students should consult the ACC Online Testing page for information about the various proctoring methods available.

Remote Testing for Online Courses

Remote proctored testing is available through the Distance Education department for courses taught using the ONL mode.


Austin Community College (ACC) currently recommends the following options for remote online testing:

1. Blackboard testing with no checks (open book tests).

2. Blackboard testing with Respondus LockDown Browser.

3. Blackboard testing with proctoring.  

4. Alternative assessments.
