Ava McGovern: future FBI agent

Ava McGovern is a senior here at AHS, she soon will be attending The Ohio State later this fall.

Ava will be attending The Ohio State in hopes of majoring in Psychology with a possible minor in Criminology. “As of right now, my goal is to be in the FBI. I want to make a difference in the world while doing something I love.” Ava has always been interested in how the brain works. “After taking AP Psych my junior year, my major choice was sealed in. I'm hoping to go into the FBI for forensics one day, so psychology is a good major for that.”

Regarding graduation, Ava shares, “I'm super nervous. All I've known in my life is Aurora. Change is good though, so I'm excited for all of the new experiences I will get to have.”

Ava has had a memorable experience her senior year since she was a part of the first Aurora volleyball team to go far, “Winning the Conference for volleyball my senior year. It was a team full of people I love so much, so getting to accomplish something like that with them was something I'll cherish forever.”

Throughout high school, Ava has had numerous people to support her; however, the teachers that stuck out to her will never be forgotten: “There are so many! Mrs. Dirda, Doc Munson, Mr. Rubin, Mr. Kuk, and Mrs. Taylor are all people who have had such a huge impact on me throughout my years in high school. Each one of them has supported me and believed in me, inspiring me every day.”

Ava wants to share, “High school is a time for growth, so embrace that! Find a reason to smile everyday.”

“Enjoy every moment! It goes by so fast.”
