Anna Lee looks forward to putting the Lee in Washington Lee University

A senior at Aurora High School, Ana Lee, is gearing up to graduate from Aurora High School and begin a new chapter in her life. Ana Lee is headed to Washington and Lee University, she doesn’t know quite yet what she wants to study, however, she has until sophomore year to officially decide on a major.

Regarding choosing Washington and Lee University, Anna says, “This school also offers an entrepreneurship center which was of great interest to me. I also like the small size of the school and how it’ll allow me to interact with the professors and other students in an easier manner.” Additionally, Anna is very interested in studying abroad, and Washington and Lee University offer stellar programs.

As far as thoughts on graduation go, Anna is sad to leave her family and her two dogs, but she’s eager to see what her future holds. Because of moving to Aurora her senior year, Anna says, “I’ve moved three times during my high school career and feel as if I didn’t live it out the way I wanted to. I feel like I wasn’t able to develop super close friendships and go to a lot of events. But I look forward to going to college and making more friendships and taking advantage of different opportunities.”

Even though Anna Lee has had limited experiences with teachers during her time at AHS, there was still one that stuck out. Anna Lee reveals that Mrs. Antol was the first teacher she ever had at Aurora High School, and she made an impact on her. Anna Lee says Mrs Antol “was so welcoming and made sure that I felt heard. She would always help me out and give me compliments on my work which really felt encouraging. I’m also thankful that she was able to write my letters of recommendation for me as I really struggled with trying to find teachers since I’d only been here for a year.”

When looking ten years in the future, Anna Lee hopes to have found her passion, and possibly even run her own business. As well as travel the world with her family.

Anna Lee’s one piece of advice for underclassmen would be, “Enjoy your high school experience, although 4 years seems long, it really goes by fast.” Anna playfully adds,“Another would be to buy a planner and don’t procrastinate!”

I think it is safe to say that with the limited time Anna Lee had at Aurora High School, she was able to make the most of it. Her final message before she graduates is that she is, “thankful to everyone who helped me feel welcome and to the friends I was able to make in the time that I attended Aurora High School. Although I didn’t live in Ohio for very long, I’m excited to leave and see where this next chapter of my life takes me.” Anna Lee will go on to do great things in the future at Washington and Lee University and so on.

Finally, Anna Lee’s senior quote is “Remember, today is the tomorrow that you worried about yesterday.”
