Ariel Fabec is signing out

After four years in our very own Aurora High School, senior Ariel Fabec is signing out and getting ready to graduate. Her afterschool plans include, “ASL interpreting or Animal training.” After taking sign language classes at Aurora and spending time training her dogs, this senior has her next few years figured out.

Fabec has taken three years of ASL here with teacher, Mr. Boe. She also loves animals, so training and working with them seemed to come naturally to her.

Fabec says some of her favorite memories from highschool were during the plays and musicals. Fabec says, “ My favorite high school memories happened when helping out with the musical and play crew, building sets, and singing to musicals while painting.”

While most seniors feel like the chance of graduating is going to be a huge change, and an extravagant experience, Fabec has some opposing feelings, “I feel that it will be kind of anticlimactic and just feel like a weight off my shoulders.”

Febec says some of her favorite teachers have helped her find what she wants to do in the future. “There have been many staff members that have impacted me. One is Mrs. Taylor as she has reinvigorated my love of reading and enjoying stories. Another is Mr. Boe as he has fostered my love of American Sign Language.”

Her advice to the underclassmen goes as follows, “ Don’t over-stress yourself, take it easy your senior year and you will be much happier.” Fabec’s life motto reminds us that sometimes it's best to keep things to ourselves and fly under the radar.  “The strongest people are not those who show strength in front of the world but those who fight and win battles that others do not know anything about"..." - Jonathan Harnisch”

The final message Ariel wants to leave you with is, “ Be kind to everyone, you never know what they are going through.” Fabec reminds us we may not know what's going on in other people's lives, and that it's important to be nice to those who surround you.
