An overview of my project consisting of my inspiration for the project, the science behind it, and my building process.
A brief summary video of my project and inspiration.
The final project! This is a video that shows how the project works.
My process to build the entire structure was long. I needed a structure that could move freely, but also hold up the weight of the solar panels and photo-resistors. The overall structure was the main factor in putting the entire project together.
My first prototype was light, but highly unstable. There was not enough room to attach the motor, panels, and LDRs. This structure would have completely collapsed if I had tried to run the code and move the panels.
My second prototype was stable and strong. However, I had trouble attaching the motor. I initially used wire to tie the motor head to each side of the structure, but the structure was too heavy.
My final structure was light and maneuverable. I glued the servo head to the side of the structure which enabled the structure to move precisely with the motor head. This final structure was efficient and used the least amount of materials.
