My name is Matthew Whitfield and I want to fly. I dream of cruising about the world on some other worldly technology and I hope to one day discover something that allows this dream to come true. Seeing as this is a pretty ambigious goal, I didn't really know where to start, but magnetism seemed like a pretty unique force with strange effects, so I just dove it.
When I first started this endevour I thought I knew more or less how electricty worked... I didn't, and still don't. Electricty has become such a normalized and accepted phenomenon that many people take it for granted let alone magnetism, which is equally if not more complicated than electricity. Magnetism and electricty are two sides of the same coin and the existence of one dirretly effects the other. Every atom (mass) has a magnetic field and an electric field. When an atom has too much energy, it releases it in an electomanetic wave. An electomanetic wave is oscillating magnetic and electric energy moving through space, and when it comes in contact with another atom, the wave's energy absorbs into the newly discovered atom. All electrcity and magnetism are, are just interactions of energy with other energy.
Magnetism can be used to create electricy and visa versa. Through a varitaion of interactions with these forces we can create movement. The most common movement created is that of a electic motor. This was my goal; to find a cheap way to create good motors that I could use in someway to fly. BTW... the flying part didn't work
