"Happy beeps here, buddy, come on. We've pulled crazier stunts than this." - Poe Dameron
If you have ever used a 3D printer, you would know that depending on the size of the object, they can take hours upon hours to print.
These parts that I am showing you typically take 20-40 hours to print a piece.
After they are finished, I go through the long process of sanding, filling, priming and repeat until I achieve a smooth finish. I won't get to start painting the parts until those steps are complete.
Like many Star Wars fans, I grew up watching the original movies as a little boy, only to then transition to the prequels. Having watched them at a young age, I wasn’t really bothered their flaws, rather, I was just in it for the hyperspace jumps, philosophical lessons, John William’s score and the magical moments which makes Star Wars, well, Star Wars.
Once the sequel trilogy came along, I started viewing the movies with a critical lense. Although I came to realise their small to major flaws, I still enjoyed them almost the same nonetheless.
At that point, I began delving into the world of prop making and robots. From working countless hours with my First Robotics team to working on BB-8, i’ve found an immense interest in pursuing a career in creature animatronics and special effects.
These interests are also complimented by smaller hobbies such as cooking, dungeons & dragons, and the saxophone. I hope one day I can achieve my dreams and find a cozy place working on films at a special effects workshop,.
