Consistent symptom logging is one of the most important parts of treating chronic illness. Logging symptoms on paper in time consuming, so most people turn to apps. Most apps, however, aren't a big improvement-- they're time consuming, not specific enough, and don't provide users with useful information.
An app that achieves the following:
Allow for customization based on illness
a) Provides templates based on the user’s diagnosis that can be edited based on each person’s needs
2. Have three different logging methods for different types of information:
a) Quick log: log only the essential information for when users are pressed for time
b) Full log: log information like pain level, associated symptoms, treatments, etc.
c) Daily log: log the information that doesn’t change throughout the day, like how much sleep you got, the date, medication, etc.
3. Contains a database of coping mechanisms that does the following:
a) Allows for easy searching based on pain level, tags, pain cause, etc.
b) Each coping mechanism has its own page with information like why it works, when to use it, and a step-by-step guide on how to use it
c) Lets users make notes on how effective the coping mechanism was so they can keep track of what was most helpful
