TRAVEL CLEARANCE
A scholar or scholar-graduate may be allowed to leave the country for not more than one (1) year. He/She may only be allowed upon completing the following:
Requirements:
Clearance Request Form
Notarized and duly accomplished Deed of Undertaking
Co-maker's Proof of Income (refer to NOTES)
Co-maker's Government ID (refer to NOTES)
Instructions:
Send a digital copy of each of the documents to clearance@sei.dost.gov.ph cc: dost.scholarships@ateneo.edu.
Send your documents 1-2 months prior to travel date.
NOTES:
Co-maker is anyone, preferably someone within the immediate family, who is not a companion during the travel and who works in the Philippines.
Co-maker's proof of income shall be a legal document that provides information regarding his/her income e.g., ITR or Certificate of Employment that indicates income.
Co-maker's proof of identity can be verified by presenting any government ID e.g., National ID, passport, UMID, PhilHeatlh ID, etc.

OVERSEAS TRAVEL FOR MORE THAN A YEAR
Scholar-graduates are required to secure bonds before leaving the country if he/she wishes to stay outside the Philippines for more than a year.
SURETY BOND
Surety bond to be posted with GSIS for an amount equivalent to the financial assistance received plus twelve percent (12%) interest; must execute a supplemental agreement with DOST-SEI, which shall serve as supporting document for the surety bond
CASH BOND
Cash bond with DOST-SEI in full amount or installment over a period of one (1) year (down payment of fifty percent (50%) of the total amount). Temporary clearance will be released upon settlement of the down payment, while the rest of the amount may be posted in equal amounts within one (1) year.
In case of the installment mode of posting the cash bond, the scholar and a co-maker must execute a supplemental agreement. The latter shall be held liable to settle the remaining amount in case the former fails to pay the installments.
For every payment of the cash bond, the scholar-graduate shall be issued an official receipt (OR).
