Aside from the usual Benefits & Services available to Ateneo College Scholars,
the Office of Admission and Aid also established the Scholars' Development Program.
To better care for scholars and to play a more active role in their holistic development, the OAA recently established the Scholars Development Program which aims to:
Develop the scholars' soft skills - resilience, confidence, communication, etc.
Equip scholars with the necessary skills and mindset to be Persons for Others
Strengthen the kinship between scholars to establish a closer Scholars Community
Below you'll find the different posters for the talks and trainings we've offered for SY 2024-2025 and SY 2025-2026:
Last November 2024, Sir Ariel Diccion, an Assistant Professor of the Department of Filipino, member of SPIT Manila, and an alumnus scholar, led a workshop focusing on key principles of active listening. Participants engaged in group games and exercises to develop active listening as a foundation for self-confidence.
Budgeting is a challenge often faced by many scholars given their limited prices and the increasing cost of living. We invited Ms. Apple Noda and Mr. Ahmad Osama, alumni scholars, to share their practical tips and lessons related to budgeting, saving, and investing. Scholars learned about the importance of saving as early as now, taking advantage of digital banks, and diversifying their savings.
For the first and opening event of the Development Program, we invited Mr. Severino Sarmenta, Sportcaster and College Instructor, Ms. Maviel Gonzales, alumni scholar and News Anchor, and Mr. Sojourner Gamayon, current scholar and ORSEM O-Host. They all shared their experiences and insights of how it felt as a scholar. The event reassured scholars that they are not here by chance but because Ateneo believes in them.
