To our generous supporters, Chuck and Linda Redman, thank you for your contribution to the NGSC Mission Team Grants! Your donation greatly assisted our students in pursuing their goals and fulfilling their passion for serving the community. This past 2021-2022 school year, we proudly awarded two Mission Team Grants to ambitious and deserving students. This was made possible by your generosity and trust in the NGSC program. On behalf of our students, staff, and the NGSC family, thank you for supporting our Mission Teams!
NGSC students take great pride in their work as leadership team members. Our student Innovation Committee Chair Madison Wickham took on the immense responsibility of creating a fair application process to assess and distribute the Mission Team Grants. Madison was thoughtful in her approach and consideration of applicants as she knew the importance of being a trusted steward of funds.
With the assistance of NGSC staff, Madison created an online application and a scoring rubric. She went the extra mile and mentored Mission Team Leaders interested in pursuing the grant to ensure they presented a strong application to NGSC staff. NGSC piloted the Mission Team Grants with a slow rollout in Fall of 2021. There were numerous interested mission teams. Five applications were submitted, and two teams were awarded funds.
Mission Team #6 Cultural and Global Equality, led by student Rachel Lee and Mission Team #21 Hunger and Nutrition, led by Jessica Utoft did a fantastic job of organizing and encouraging their team members to complete projects that inspired continued learning, selflessness, and community engagement.

This aligns well with our social mission because we are dedicated to promoting cultural competency. We believe this will be both an informative and fun event for all NGSC members.” -Rachel Lee

Mission Team #21, led by Jessica Utoft in collaboration with the ASU Pitchfork Pantry, created healthy and easy recipes that students can make with a blender.
"We have been working on creating several recipes based on what food the PitchFork Pantry receives from food banks. One recipe we created requires a blender. We thought it would be a great idea to raffle off a blender to bring awareness to the PitchFork Pantry as well as give a student the opportunity to improve their health. They will always remember how the PitchFork Pantry changed their life."" - Jessica Utoft
The NGSC Mission Teams are consistently making strides towards improving themselves, the community, and the world. The Mission Team Grants have allowed our students to create a more significant impact far beyond the Arizona State University campus. The NGSC is dedicated to sharing and supporting our students to continue their work and development as character-driven leaders. We look forward to sharing all the successful Mission Team Grant Projects with you in the upcoming 2022-2023 school year.
