Y4 Assignment Descriptions
Timeline:
Form will be open from March 19–31, 2025
Roles will be assigned and students notified in April
Training for each role will be led by the staff who oversees that role
PAF 194: Introduction to the NGSC Class Facilitator for NGSC
Description:
Facilitate discussions and guide learning in the PAF 194: Introduction to the NGSC classes for first-year NGSC students. Collaborate with program staff to develop meaningful content aligned with NGSC goals. Four sections are offered in the Fall semester only (3 in Tempe; 1 in DTPHX).
Responsibilities:
Lead weekly class sessions
Engage with students in discussions and projects
Prepare lessons in collaboration with the instructor
Peer Office Hours Host (30 hours a semester, Armstrong Hall space; maintain a log)
Description:
Support NGSC students’ professional, academic, and personal growth through structured mentorship and open office hours.
Responsibilities:
Host regular office hours where students can drop in for advice, questions, or resources
Foster meaningful connections with underclassmen to build a supportive community
Maintain a log of sessions and share insights with NGSC leadership to help improve programming
Time Commitment: 30 hours per semester
Location: Armstrong Hall
Internships Liaison
Description:
Work with NGSC staff to promote and support internship opportunities for students, review internship submissions, and guide students through the internship process.
Responsibilities:
Share internship opportunities with NGSC students via Slack
Meet with students one-on-one via Zoom to offer guidance on searching, applying, and logging internships
Serve as a primary point of contact for internship support
Co-host virtual internship information sessions
Review logged internships for accuracy, verify completion, and celebrate successes through social media and other channels
Co-Gen Mission Team Member
Description:
Join the collaborative Co-Generational Mission Team, partnering with Y4 NGSC students and Mirabella residents to research, serve, and take action on a complex social issue of your choice.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate using the 4-3-2-1 model to deepen understanding of the chosen social issue
Design and execute a Mission Team project addressing a community need
Present the project at the ASU Change the World event on March 19, 2025
Document the work for the annual Impact Report and engage with community feedback
10-Year Anniversary Event Committee (Fall Commitment)
Description:
Help plan and execute NGSC’s milestone 10-Year Anniversary event, held during ASU Salute to Service in November 2025.
Responsibilities:
Assist with event logistics including venue selection, scheduling, and communication
Develop event programming that showcases NGSC’s history and impact
Collaborate with staff, alumni, and students to ensure a successful celebration
Commitment: Fall semester (exact dates TBD)
Tutoring/Academic Assistance (Armstrong Hall space; maintain a log)
Description:
Provide tutoring and academic support to NGSC students to help them excel in their courses.
Responsibilities:
Offer one-on-one or group tutoring sessions in your area of expertise
Help students develop effective study and time-management strategies
Recommend additional academic resources as needed

Continued Leadership (Beyond the Required)
Description:
Deepen your involvement in NGSC by taking on additional leadership roles beyond the minimum requirement, serving as a peer leader and supporting broader program initiatives.
Responsibilities:
Assume additional leadership responsibilities within NGSC
Actively contribute to program events and development
Serve as a role model of dedication and service for your peers
Committee Member
Description:
Join an NGSC Committee to assist with programming that supports organizational needs, builds community, and enhances the overall NGSC experience.
Responsibilities:
Plan and execute engaging social events for NGSC students
Gather feedback from the student body
Foster inclusivity and a strong sense of belonging within the NGSC community
