Project Description

The Love Loop Head App will accompany the Love Loop Head website. While the website is aimed to give an impression, a “Sense of Place” of the Loop Head Peninsula and provide an overview of the attractions and facilities available, the app is designed as a practical and easy to use tool for visitors. The Love Loop Head app will allow visitors to plan their day while having breakfast or take a more spontaneous approach and decide their next steps on the go.

The app will cover anything from accommodation & food to Points of Interest and trails and will also include a community component.

The app will also allow Loop Head Tourism members to send out push notifications to visitors in the area of last minute cancellations and special offers on the day.

Project Justification & Objectives

The Love Loop Head app takes advantage of the new way of travelling. The days of planning a trip in advance by consulting guidebooks and websites are (mostly) gone and the majority of travellers want to always stay connected and have any information they need at their fingertips (on their smartphone). The Love Loop Head app will make it easier for the modern traveller to discover Loop Head with the envisage result that more people will visit the area and stay longer.

The app will create a flow of visitors around the Peninsula rather than having them congregate in the main communities. Therefore they will get to see more of the beauty and get a better sense of the authenticity of the peninsula which will also allow businesses to maximise their revenues and visitor numbers.
