Loop Head Flagship Book
Concept
Concept
Despite our world becoming more and more digital, books are still very popular. The Loop Head Peninsula Flagship Book would be a long-lived celebration of the Loop Head Peninsula and would cover a wide range of topics to paint a comprehensive and authentic picture of life on the Loop in the past and present. Topics covered in the book could include:
History
Natural History & Geology
Heritage
Farming & Fishing
Folklore
Memories
Communities
People & Personalities
The book is envisaged to be a peninsula-wide community effort with both text and illustrations sourced from groups and individuals on the peninsula with the national schools and Kilkee Community College acting as an information hub.
Text could be written by a variety of authors as well as sourced through interviews. Illustrations could be photographs (current and historic), drawings, paintings, sketches, etc. produced by members of the Loop Head communities of all ages and backgrounds.
The compilation and production of the book would be overseen by an editorial team and final design and layout would have to be approved by all involved.
Project Justification & Objectives
The Loop Head Peninsula Flagship Book would be aimed at visitors and residents alike and would be one of a kind: A book celebrating the Loop Head Peninsula created by the people of the Loop Head Peninsula.
In addition to being a long-lived and unique publication showcasing the area, it would also create an ongoing revenue stream for Loop Head Together.
