Loop Head Pride of Place Community Shortfilm
Concept
Concept
The Loop Head Pride of Place Community Short Film would be a continuation of the Loop Head Digital Academy. The short film would be written, filmed, edited and produced by members of the Loop Head communities with help, advice and support from resident filmmaker Tony Whelan.
The short film is envisaged to be a mixture of interviews and narrated passages, featuring personal stories describing life on the Loop and showcasing the scenery and built heritage. Other topics covered could be anything and everything that makes Loop Head the special place it is:
Landscape
Wildlife
History & heritage
Community and community events
Festivals
Arts & crafts
Music
Farming & fishing
Local food
Outdoor activities
The short film would be a unique and personal piece of work showcasing a rural community captured by the very same community.
Project Justification & Objectives
The Loop Head Pride of Place Short Film would be a vehicle to showcase the Loop Head Peninsula and its communities on a variety of platforms including YouTube, Vimeo, film festivals and television. This would reach and attract viewers outside the mainstream tourism audience and would so engage new visitors and attract people who are considering relocating both of which would contribute to Loop Head Together’s goals.
